Located in Savannah, Georgia, the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) was founded by Richard G. Rowan, Paula Wallace, May L. Poetter, and Paul E. Poetter in 1978. The goal was to offer creative degrees that were not available in Southeast Georgia.

Currently, SCAD offers 100 degree programs, and enrollment exceeds 18,500 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
